Fire District # 2 Facts

Fire Chief: Dennis England

Washington County Fire District #2 was established in 1952. With the combination of career and volunteer firefighters, Fire District # 2 serves 122 square miles in Central Washington County and responds to approximately 1200 calls per year. The Fire District provides emergency services to the to the City of North Plains as well as the unincorporated communities of Midway, Twin Oaks, Laurel, Scholl’s, Farmington, Kinton, Bald Peak, Chehalem, Glencoe, Shadybrook, Helvetia, West Union, Dairy Creek, Mountain Dale, Pumpkin Ridge and Rock Creek.

The area residents are served out of two fire stations: Station 19 located on Midway Road south of Hillsboro, and Station 17 located on Commercial Street in North Plains.

The Washington Co. Fire District #2 open  burning line is (503) 992-3242 please call this number each day prior to burning.

All agricultural burn permits can be issued at any one of our stations 7 days a week, we also have backyard burning info at both of our stations.
