|  Click the image to download a map of the district. | Fire Chief: Dennis England Washington County Fire District #2 was established in 1952. With the combination of career and volunteer firefighters, Fire District # 2 serves 122 square miles in Central Washington County and responds to approximately 1200 calls per year. The Fire District provides emergency services to the to the City of North Plains as well as the unincorporated communities of Midway, Twin Oaks, Laurel, Scholl’s, Farmington, Kinton, Bald Peak, Chehalem, Glencoe, Shadybrook, Helvetia, West Union, Dairy Creek, Mountain Dale, Pumpkin Ridge and Rock Creek. The area residents are served out of two fire stations: Station 19 located on Midway Road south of Hillsboro, and Station 17 located on Commercial Street in North Plains. Both stations are staffed 12-hours a day from 7A.M.-7P.M. 365 days a year by 8 career firefighters, the Districts 44 volunteer firefighters augment the responses during the daytime hours and also cover all the emergencies after 7P.M. In addition to providing emergency services when needed, Washington County Fire District #2 also sponsors community education projects designed to prevent emergencies. Our staff and volunteers encourage you to know as much as you can about emergencies, how to avoid them and what to do when one occurs. We provide information on a variety of topics and can arrange to present material to most sizes of groups.
